Goals for the week

Its  a new week and a fresh start! Time for new goals and a clean slate!

Everyone always talk about how they hate Mondays, but I actually quite like them. It feels like a new start, just as the beginning of the year feels like.

I also often work long hours on the weekend and at the end of the week since I am a student on week days so that might be a part of my love for Mondays. Uni life feels more relaxed than working hours, even though the uni work load is much more. It  is probably because the hours you study is more flexible to manage that hours that you are at work.

Since it is Monday today and a new week is commencing, I have set myself 5 simple goals for the week:

  1. Go for a Run and exercise minimum 4 times
  2. Eat healthy the entire week, and only have chocolate or candy 1 day in the week
  3. Spend minimum 35 hours on uni work this week
  4. Answer messages as soon as they come and keep in touch with friends
  5. Stay positive

This Monday has been a great start to the week. I have been for a lecture at uni that was really interesting, cleared up at home a little bit and made Greg and I tacos for dinner.
Here are a few pictures from my day today so far;

I will take the rest of the evening off now, and watch some Big Bang Theory or Silent Witness on the TV when Greg finishes his play station game.

What goals have you guys made for the week?

New Job!

Good morning guys!

DSCF3616

This morning I have been for  a run, done some exercises and now I am enjoying my breakfast whilst watching the Kardashians and gathering the energy for a productive day. Wohoo!

DSCF3672DSCF3674S0013699

I have fallen slightly behind on my uni work the last few weeks, so I have some major catch up to do over the next few days.

A week ago I got an extra job as a waitress! As the summer is sneaking up on us slowly but surely I felt that I needed some extra money for holidays and etc, not to mention that uni is soon over and I dont know yet if I will be able to go for my masters after the summer or how long it will take me to get a full time job if I dont go on studying straight away.

DSCF3618

I really like my new job and the people there, much more than I thought I would actually, however I have to be very disciplined with getting my work done for uni now that I am working more  hours than  am used to and the last few days has been a bit of a slip. But that all changes today!
I am getting super stressed that we are already in March, both in terms of all the work I have leading up for the end of the term, but also that three years of uni is coming to an end. I defiantly feel that I am not done studying and the unknown about what I will be doing after the summer is quite stressfull. Time is just going to fast and I almost feel that life is passing me by! That might be a bit of a stretch but you get what I mean. Therefore I feel that it is super important that I make the most out of the next two months to stay on top of everything.

I got next to no sleep last night, so that will be a challenge when I am trying to read and learn today, but with a few cups of coffee and some good old will power I think I will be alright.
Luckily I got of to a good start with my work out and a good energetic breakfast. I also have a few errands to run today, such as getting a haircut for my poor neglected hair!

What are you guys up to today?

I wish you all a good and productive day!

Cleaning Out my Closet, Cleaning Up my Life

Good morning!

Monday is here and I am hoping it is the start of a great and productive week!

s0103540

Last night I started planning for the week, and as I did that I also cleaned up at home!
One of the things that was long overdue was my closet. I am somewhat of a horder, especially with clothes. I can never seem to be able to let anything go, and with too many clothes for my closet it is a constant mess! Half the clothes I owe are stuff I never wear, even wrong sized clothes I hang on to in the fear that I might one day not have anything to wear and need some emergency clothing.

s0123566s0103549

It is actually working against it’s purpose with me always being in a rush in the morning combined with a chaotic closet always leads to me not finding anything to wear and end up dressing like a klutz.
Not to mention our bedroom always being in a state of chaos.
So I decided to put an end to all that and finally go through it. I filled up an entire bin bag to give away!

Much better!

Finally – A closet where I can actually find my clothes!

dscf3609

I am hoping and planning for the closet change to be the metaphorical start to a much better week than the one that passed. A boarder separating last week to the coming week.

The week that passed was such a mess with to many unfortunate incidents and me failing to meet any of my goals.

Last week started well with many outings and fun. I ate healthy, worked out and spent my days with productivity.

Well, as the storm came to London it blew away my motivation and whisked me with bad luck.

I let my diet go, ate loads of sugars and cut back on nutrient food, leaving me feeling bloated, out of energy and unwell. I “forgot” my exercise and I overslept nearly every night, making it hard to fall asleep in the evening and then I was caught in this really bad sleep routine. Fortunately I didn’t have anywhere I needed to be early, but still –  bad.

To top my week of, on Friday I was out with one of my friends and I lost my phone! It was stolen out of my bag! Four years in London and my first theft incident so I guess I am lucky, but still so very annoying.
So yesterday I had to go get a cheap phone so people can reach me and now I am stuck with this really old phone that is super hard to use. But at least I have a phone and can be reached!

s0123568
What a week, fortunately that’s over!

So, that was my week – a fiasco of a week, but fortunately that is over now and a new week is upon us!

I have already started well, I have been for a long run, did my exercises, had a shower and I am now doing my makeup. All ready for my 9 am appointment and a good start to the week!

I wish you all a great Monday, and hope to report with good news throughout the week!

Friday Night Home Alone

Good Friday evening everybody!

These last few weeks has gone so quick! I cannot belive we are already in December, the last month of the year. Christmas is right around the corner and so is uni deadlines and exams.

It has been a hectic month for me so far. Trying to prepare for everything at uni as well as keeping up with the social calendar of December is tricky enough, but in addition this bad cold has been going around and of course I caught it!

Tonight Greg is in Bristol with work and I have so many deadlines coming up so I have had to stay inn and working on them. Hooray for Friday night! No, all jokes aside – it could be age – or delusion but I am really enjoying spending some time indoors tonight, with Pizza, Pepsi Max and snacks. And even when it is spent working on my assignments. I must be growing up haha!
s0013049dscf3046dscf3055

Lately I have become so bored and annoyed at our living room furnishing. Something that is ironic since i am actually the one who furnished in the first place. Suddenly I realized that our place really lack that “homey” feeling and really is quite disastrous colour coordinated. Somehow as I was decorating it, I made it dark and look like a place two bachelors would share rather than a nice cozy home.
So at the beginning at the month I planned for and ordered new furniture and they arrive already on Monday! I keep talking about it as my master project. I am so excited! Earlier today I went and got some decorations and final touches for the living room at IKEA, and I cannot wait to show you when it is all in place!

This was my little update for today! I am now about to watch an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, before continuing with my uni work for a bit before bed.

Will talk to you again tomorrow.

Last Week and a New Focus

Good morning beautiful people!

I am getting ready to head out to work, but before I do that I thought I would give an update and a summary with the highs and lows from the week that just passed.

I have been away for some weeks now. We have had some highs and lows here that I have been working through. But it is all worked through now and I am back to normal, and hopefully will be better than ever!

In the week that was I have worked towards getting myself healthy and feel my best. After a few health scares and feeling unhealthy my focus has gone from heating and working out to look my best, so eating, living and working out in a way that benefits my health.
It is a work in progress and I have had good days and days that I have been less successful but I am getting there!
I hope that in this week I will not have any setbacks and be 100% dedicated to being healthy. I have realized that being happy and healthy is much more important than being thin, or have great skinn or being well toned and that way I feel more relaxed and much happier.

Well, back to the week that was.

High point of the week:
On Thursday Greg took me out for a super nice date! We went to central and ate tapas before going for ice cream. It was great to get to spend some one on one time without any distractions. The food was amazing and the company was even better!
How lucky am I to be with this amazing man!

15032529_10158048112800508_1488714943_n

Low point of the week:
The low point of my week must have been yesterday, when Greg and I was watching the Saints and the Broncos and just as we were getting super excited that they were about to win, the Broncos blocked the last field goal and we lost the game! We were so disappointed!

Surprise of the week:
Trump won the election! Like so many else I am just stunned that Donald Trump won the election in America. I was up watching some of the election and I could not believe he was in the lead. I was even more surprised waking up to the news that he won! Who would have though a year ago that he would actually be president. It just goes to show that anything can happen, so at least that is a good life lesson.

I have in general had a great week, and been getting on track with food, sleep and in general feeling very uplifted and happy.
Having said that I could not get to sleep last night, and ended up with only 3 hours of sleep so I am dreading spending 12 hours as a health care assistant today. Being on such a long shift in a job were you need to be very present for the residents and the people you are looking after is very challenging when being sleep deprived.
However I am determined to keep up a good spirit and just keep in mind that at the end of the day I will get a great night sleep. And keep the coffee coming!

Have a great day everyone!

Date Night in Soho

dscf1462

Good evening!

After a day of some studying and some TV watching, I met Greg after he finished work for a date night in the city.

Because I dont have any lectures on Fridays and this is the first week back at uni, I allowed myself to a bit of a relaxed day. After a couple hours of light studying, I spent the day with some day time TV watching whilst I made a slightly unhealthy but delicious lunch.

A few days ago Greg suggested that we should go to Soho after work today and eat dinner out. It has been a while since I have gone out on a date with Greg, as I said in my previous post I have been in a mode lately where I have wanted to stay in an just relax most days. But as I am changing that now, we went out and I had such a nice time!
dscf1473dscf1484dscf1486dscf1480

We met up in Piccadilly Circus and walked to this Greg restaurant that makes pizza and pasta. You simply order by the counter and chooses your choice, which they heat up and you bring to your seat.
It is like a canteen theme, only the food was so good and it looks like a restaurant with really nice interior.
dscf1813

After dinner we walked down Oxford Street and looked in a few shops before heading to Trafalgar Square for a look around.
When Greg first moved to London Trafalgar Square was one of the first places I took him to and it is one of his favorite places in London.
It is quite nice, it is lively yet it has far fewer people than busy places like Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus.
dscf1816dscf1815

Now I super full after dinner and then snacks that we had after coming home. Greg is sound asleep but I am still wide awake – snoozing half the morning today was probably not the greatest idea.

I am so excited for the weekend now. I haven’t made any plans yet, because I thought I was going to work this weekend but it turns out that I have this weekend of!
I probably will do a bit of exercise, a bit of study and the rest just do what I want. Unless we decide to go out and see something.

I wish you all a great weekend and hope you will enjoy it!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Dinnertime in Greece

dscf1743

Good evening from Agia Marina.
We are now on our last few days down here by the Mediterranean. Our time has flown by and on Saturday we fly home.

After a long day at the beach today, we got showered, dressed and went out to a very cozy Greek restaurant just down the street from us.

I think this is the first holiday we have been on where I have not felt the need to get super dressed up and go to a restaurant every night. Some nights I have even had just take away and many nights I have gone out wearing just jeans, a top and flats. Most nights I haven’t worried to much with make up or even my hair, just gone out to relax and eat.

Tonight though we spent some time getting dolled up and put on some nice dresses. We had such a good time deciding what to wear, how to do our hair and take pictures.

My mum trying to get me to taste a danish snap called “Gammel Dansk”. I know from previous experience how hard it is to get down but my mum swears it is the best way to keep the flu away on holiday!

dscf1728

I have always liked to get properly dressed on holiday, in fact sometimes I have felt it is y favorite thing about going away. I have always liked to go out after dinner and I am always the last person to want to leave.
This year I am very content after dinner most nights and quite happy to go home.
I dont know if it is just that I have been tired, that I am changing or perhaps I am just getting old.

dscf1742dscf1740dscf1741

Tonight after dinner we tried to find a place with a bit of music and a few drinks, but we were unsure where to find it and looking around Agia Marina where we live there has nothing so we decided to go home.
I would have thought to be disappointed not to find anywhere, but to tell you the truth it was really nice to get home and change out of my dress.
I just hope I have not turned permanently into a really boring person!
Having said that though, it is a nice feeling to feel content by relaxing as well and not always having to go out to have a good time.

Anyways, I hope everyone has had a great day. I will update you more on our holiday tomorrow 🙂

For now it is time for this grandma to get to bed.
